The most evident advantage of Invisalign braces from our
Verplanck cosmetic dentist is cosmetic, which makes the technique especially popular among adults who want to straighten their teeth without the typical look and discomfort of traditional metal braces. Using a series of clear, customized, removable appliances, Invisalign braces straighten your teeth without the need for uncomfortable brackets and wires. Since Invisalign braces are virtually invisible, hardly anyone will be able to tell you're straightening your teeth. Our
Verplanck cosmetic dentist is a specialist in cosmetic dentistry, and along with our certified staff, will help you understand the procedure of using Invisalign braces.

Using the Invisalign treatment plan from our
Verplanck cosmetic dentist, along with 3-D computer software, custom sets of plastic aligners will be made that move your teeth in small increments. Each aligner, as few as 12 or as many as 48, is accurately calibrated and made to fit your mouth at each stage of your treatment plan. Worn for about two weeks, your aligners are only taken out to eat, brush and floss. Unlike with Invisalign, 50% of patients who wear traditional metal braces develop tooth decay because they can’t be removed for eating and cleaning, and they prevent accurate x-rays from being taken.
Providing expert and compassionate dental care, our
Verplanck cosmetic dentist will take dental impressions, photographs, and x-rays of your teeth that will be sent to Align Technology. The impressions are put through a CT scan in order for a computerized three-dimensional model to be created. From that point, custom software will simulate the movement of your teeth in stages. Your simulation will be reviewed online and, once approved, a plastic resin aligner is made for each stage of treatment and shipped to our dental office, Montrose Dental Associates. Depending on how complicated your case is, usual treatment time is about one year and, when finished, retainers are made from a similar plastic material and usually worn at night. Computerized treatment planning is an essential part of the Invisalign braces procedure as this allows you to actually see your projected smile design, learn how long the treatment will most likely take, and make a more educated decision as to whether Invisalign is right for you or your family.
